'GIVE GEOGRAPHY ITS PLACE'
Campaign Competition

We thought it would be a great idea if we could run a competition alongside the campaign to stimulate further interest in GGiP and also to provide you with the opportunity to win some great prizes! Various companies and organisations have donated prizes and we are very grateful for their support.

There will be several competitions with different prizes and as long as you have signed up to show your support for the GGiP Campaign, you are welcome to enter one or more of these competitions.

COMPETITION ONE RESULT: I am very pleased to be able to announce that the winner of the 'All will be Revealed' photo competition is Sarah Hack. Congratulations Sarah.

Sarah correctly guessed that the photograph was taken from outside the Tate Modern in London. Sarah has won for herself a copy of the Secondary Geography Handbook and CD Rom worth £69.99. This was one of the prizes generously donated by Dr David Lambert and the Geographical Association. For anyone else interested in getting hold of the G.A Secondary Geography Handbook, please follow this link.

COMPETITION TWO - CAPTION COMPETITION

After receiving some very funny captions for our photo competition, the final votes were:

In THIRD PLACE Sarah Hack with Caption 1

In SECOND PLACE Paul Williams with Caption 3

In FIRST PLACE Anne Bowerman with Caption 2
(which picked up over 75% of the votes)

So congratulations to Anne who will be getting her prize of the latest Collins World Atlas and thank you to all those who sent in entries and who voted. Finally an honourable mention goes to James White for his very amusing 'Historian' caption...

I am finally going to prepare the long awaited Mapping Competition with prizes to be awarded by Memory Map digital mapping software - I hope to get the competition off the ground in the near future. It is a prize worth waiting for so keep an eye open for announcements.
